In the 1930's, Elphège Patenaude, a well known big and tall, hard working man from Granby PQ is often requested to help move heavy items, throughout its 6 feet 7 inches and weighting around 300 pound with negligible body fat. Mr Patenaude is recognized to be a very strong man with high lifting capabilities. In years where access to lifting equipment is almost impossible to get, a local AM radio company, ''CHEF 1450'' hires Elphège Patenaude and his son René, to move a 1000lbs generator into its basement. The word spread very quickly through AM waves: ''Mr Patenaude and his son moved a 1000lbs piece of equipment with their bare hands down the stairs !'' Now everyone in the region is requesting Mr Patenaude capabilities of lifting, moving and transporting miscellaneous stuff. A legend is born !

     In the 40's, Mr Patenaude trades his horses for trucks and starts getting help from his grandsons Normand and Serge.

     In the 50's, from factories, to banks and hospitals, Mr Patenaude services are now requested everywhere in the province and he has no choice but to build its own moving equipment because bare hands just don't do it anymore, stuff getting larger and heavier !

     The 60's ''Patenaude Transport'' becomes ''Patenaude et frères Inc.'' when Serge and Normand take over their father and grandfather business and enlarge their field of capabilities by getting accurate equipment such as cranes, forklifts and hydraulic gantries.

     ''Patenaude et frères Inc.'' is now owned by François Patenaude, son of Normand, who has accumulated more than 25 years of experience on the job site and received the heritage of knowledge of its predecessors. The company has evolved over the years by servicing all types of industries and corporations such as IBM, GE, Brystol Meyer Squib, Bombardier, Hydro Quebec, Rolls Royce, Kruger, Kraft Heroux Devtek, Natrel and many, many more.

     Our company emploies around 20 persons with 3 crews of rigging working around the clock in Canada and the USA. We own more than 25 trucks, trailers and cranes, 22 forklifts and our facilities are still located in Granby PQ where we have more than 200 000sqft of warehousing, garages and servicing area.
